Day Eight

As we departed Boulder, we passed the Flat Irons
on our way to the Peak to Peak scenic drive where
we could see the snow capped mountains of the front
range of the Rockies.

We hiked up Boulder Falls and did a five mile hike to two lakes, Red Rock Lake and Brainard Lake.

We ended our day in Rocky Mountain National Park on the Trail Ridge where we were 2 miles above sea level. The views were spectacular. We also got up close to the many Elk who inhabit the  park.

On our trip out of the park we encountered a scary hail storm, and then saw a gorgeous sunset outside
Cheyenne, Wyoming.
